The Tel Aviv District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday filed an indictment against Turkish citizen Idan Damirhan, 47, for the murder of the headless woman found partially dismembered in a suitcase in south Tel Aviv earlier this month.
The indictment, filed in the Tel Aviv District Court, said that Damirhan was romantically involved with the woman, but after a monetary dispute with her related to paying rent, decided to murder her.
Damirhan cut up her body and left the pieces in different areas of Tel Aviv to try to cover his tracks, said the indictment.
The woman was found on a staircase to the pedestrian bridge to HaHagana train station in south Tel Aviv by bomb sappers called by a passerby.
The prosecution has asked to detain the man until the end of the proceedings.Ben Hartman contributed to this story.
