Turkish security forces kill 54 Kurdish militants

ISTANBUL - Turkish security forces have killed 54 Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants during three days of clashes in the towns of Silopi and Cizre in southeast Turkey, state-run Anadolu Agency said on Friday.
The two towns, near the Syrian and Iraqi borders in the province of Sirnak, were placed under curfew on Monday night as Turkey launched an operation targeting PKK fighters in the area.
