Turkish security situation deteriorates under threats from ISIS

Turkish analysts have warned of growing security threats facing their country as extremist groups including the Islamic State (IS) step up recruitment within its borders.
According to statistics, about 1,200 Turkish people have been recruited as extremist militants, accounting for an estimated one tenth of the total.
"Now Turkey must consider how to prevent its people from joining extremist groups and how to pull back the 1,200 Turkish who have already joined extremist groups. Those who have joined extremist groups pose a huge internal threat to Turkey," said Ali Semin, a researcher from the Bilgesam Center for Strategic Studies.
