Two Beersheba factories connect to natural gas network

Natural gas will begin to power two factories in Beersheba in the coming days, representing a first for the southern city.
Following approval on Monday by the National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Ministry's Natural Gas Authority, the Hamat Group's Harsa ceramic sanitary product factory and the Arad Group's Hassin Esh ceramic roof tile factory were officially connected to the country's natural gas network.
It took NIS 10 million for the companies to make the switch, with the help of government subsidies.
The ministry said that the factories will see an estimated direct savings of NIS 2 million annually.
Soroka University Medical Center, Ben-Gurion University and more factories are expected to convert to natural gas power in the future.
