Two explosions in Afghanistan kill at least 5 people

LAGHMAN - Two policemen were killed and nine wounded by an explosion in the capital of eastern Laghman province, Metherlam city, around 10 p.m. local time (1830 GMT) on Friday night, the Afghan Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The police were investigating an initial explosion that did not cause any injuries, when they were hit by a secondary bomb.
In another incident, on Saturday morning a suicide bomber killed two policemen and one civilian in Khost City, the capital of unstable eastern Khost province, the Interior Ministry said in a statement. The blast wounded 12 others, 8 of them civilians.
