Two men were injured in a fire in a residential building near the Hadar Mall on General Pierre Koenig Street in Jerusalem on Wednesday. The Fire Department has announced that the fire was under control. The two victims - age 59 and 39 - were treated by paramedics and then evacuated to the Hadassa Hospital. According to a statement by the Hospital both are in serious conditions after sustaining grade 2 burns throughout the body and smoke inhalation.First responder and United Hatzalah volunteer Yisraela Gabbai who was at the scene said, "Together with other volunteers I treated two people who were evacuated from the building by the Fire Department. They were suffering from respiratory distress due to smoke inhalation."The incident is being investigated by the authorities.The Hadar Mall is located in the Talpyot neighborhood, a busy commercial and residential area in the south of Jerusalem.
