Two Israeli citizens banned from Chile’s Torres del Paine over fire

Two Israeli citizens were banned from Chile's Torres del Paine National Park on Wednesday (January 28) after park rangers said they were discovered starting a campfire on park grounds. Such activity is prohibited under park rules.
The tourists, identified by local media as 24-year-old Gabai Mordechay and 23-year-old Alon Shani, were each fined about $800 US dollars and are forbidden from returning to the picturesque park in Chile's Patagonia for two years.The Puerto Natales chief of police, Jorge Troncoso, said the tourists were found starting a fire in the Campamento Italiano portion of the park known for its pristine woodlands, rivers, lakes and glacier.
