Two police officers dead after helicopter crash in Charlottesville

Two police officers were killed on Saturday in a helicopter crash while en route to Charlottesville, Virginia, the Virginia State Police confirmed.
In a report on their Facebook page, the State Police said that the two officers - Lieutenant H. Jay Cullen and Trooper-Pilot Berke M. M. Bates - were found dead at the scene a few miles from Charlottesville. They had been on their way to provide assistance to the local police and the National Guard, which had been called as the violence emanating from a white supremacist rally and several counter-protests erupted in the city.
In addition, one woman was killed on Saturday during a counter-protest in a car ramming. A suspect, James Alex Fields Jr., has been arrested.
