The Magistrates Court in Nazareth sentenced two residents of the north to 19 months in prison for helping an inmate who was serving a life sentence cross the border and escape into Syria, and for helping another person cross the northern border, Channel 2 reported.
Hattam Yassin of Jaljulya and Mohamed Tzalah of Tamra were convicted of helping Mohamed Yassin a convicted murderer cross into Syria while the prisoner was on a 12 hour furlough from prison.
The escaped convict had already served twenty years of his life sentence.
