UK: Britain contributes extra $160 million to Syrian humanitarian aid

The UK on Wednesday provided an additional $160 million to humanitarian aid in Syria, raising the total sum of London's aid to those striken by the two-year conflict to more than $800 million, AFP cited British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg as announcing.
"Britain's humanitarian response to the Syrian crisis has become our largest ever because sadly it reflects the scale, despair and brutality of what's going on," AFP quoted British International Development Secretary Justine Greening as saying.
