UK defense secretary demands UN be allowed into Syria

Secretary of Defense for the United Kingdom on Sunday demanded that Syrian President Bashar Assad allow a United Nations team to investigate the alleged use of Syrian chemical weapons.
Speaking on the Andrew Marr show on BBC One, Philip Hammond said the UK "demand that Assad allows in the UN team to investigate the use of chemical weapons. Once we have got the evidence we will present it to our allies and partners."
He added that the UK and the US were alarmed by "limited but persuasive evidence" of their possible use.
A UN fact-finding team is ready to deploy to Syria within 24 to 48 hours, the BBC reported.
