The UN's top human rights official has criticized Iran for executing a 21-year-old man who was convicted for murder while still a juvenile. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay said she is "deeply dismayed" by the hanging Sunday of Behnoud Shojai. Shojai was 17 when he stabbed to death another teenager in a brawl at a Teheran park. In a statement Tuesday, Pillay urged Iran "to end execution of juvenile offenders once and for all." She also expressed concern about reports that three people have been sentenced to death in Iran for their involvement in post-election protests earlier this year. Pillay said there were "major concerns about the way the recent trials of opposition activists were conducted."
