UN's Ban and Netanyahu meet, discuss Mideast issues

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon met with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Tuesday to discuss regional issues following the premier's address to the UN General Assembly in New York.
Ban briefed Netanyahu on UN developments and plans relating to Syria's chemical weapons stockpile, and expressed his determination to convene an international peace conference on Syria in Geneva by mid-November, a statement from the UN said.
The two discussed the situation in the Middle East, including Iran and Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.
