US expresses concerns to Turkey over Chinese missile deal

The United States is talking toTurkey about its concern over Ankara's decision to co-produce along-range air and missile defence system with a Chinese firmunder US sanctions, US Ambassador Francis Ricciardone saidon Thursday.

"We are very concerned about the prospective deal with thesanctioned Chinese firm. Yes this is a commercial decision, itis Turkey's sovereign right, but we are concerned about what itmeans for allied air defence," Ricciardone told reporters.
