US Jewish groups mourn passing of Beau Biden

American Jewish organizations expressed condolences to Vice President Joe Biden and his family following the news that his son, former Delaware attorney general Beau Biden, had succumbed to brain cancer
“Our heartfelt condolences go out today to Vice President Biden and his entire family following this tragic news,” the Jewish Federations of North America said in a statement. “An army veteran and dedicated public servant, Beau Biden stood out to all who knew him as a man of courage, a man of integrity and a man of genuine goodwill.”
“The vice president himself put it best during his address at the 2008 Democratic National Convention, when he turned to his son and said: ‘You know, folks, my dad used to have an expression. He'd say, “A father knows he's a success when he turns and looks at his son or daughter and know that they turned out better than he did.” I'm a success; I'm a hell of a success’.”
“We are heartbroken by this tragic news, and our thoughts and prayers are with the Biden family at this time,” the National Jewish Democratic Council said in a statement.
