US Police say 6 shot near Baltimore nightclub

BALTIMORE  — US police said six people have been shot and injured, including two police officers, near a Baltimore nightclub after reports of a large fight.  Authorities confirmed 1 officer, 1 other man have died.

Baltimore police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said an officer was in critical condition and one of the four civilians also appeared to have severe injuries following the shooting that occurred after 1:15 a.m. Sunday.

Guglielmi told The Associated Press that several officers were called to a report of fighting at the downtown establishment Club Select that subsequently spilled outside.

He said no immediate arrests were made. Guglielmi said at least some officers fired weapons, but details were sketchy and several people were being questioned.

He did not immediately identify the officers and others shot.
