US president claims Texas shooting ‘isn’t a gun situation’

In response to the Sunday shooting in Texas that claimed the lives of 26 people CNN reported that US President Donald Trump claims the shooter had “mental health problems”.

US President Donald Trump claimed that “based on preliminary reports” the shooter was “a very deranged individual.”

Trump insisted that the shooting is not related to US gun laws. “Mental health is your problem here,” said the president. He also stressed that this is a ”very, very sad event” but that these were his views regarding the matter.

The president responded to a question about whether he believed new gun measures might be the answer to shooting cases like the one that took place in First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas.
