US State Department expresses concern over Israeli power cut to Palestinians

The Israeli Electric Company's decision on Monday to cut electricity to the Palestinian Authority due to mounting debts has aroused worry in Washington.
US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters in Washington, "We’re concerned about the impact on the ground of any cuts to basic services, including electricity."
Psaki said, "We remain very concerned about the continued viability of the Palestinian Authority if they do not receive funds [blocked by Israel after Ramallah's decision to join the International Criminal Court] soon, either in terms of the resumption of monthly Israeli transfers of Palestinian tax revenues or additional donor assistance."
