Venezuela to issue statement rejecting US 'imperial threats'

CARACAS - Venezuela's foreign ministry will issue a statement rejecting US President Donald Trump's threat of military intervention in the South American country, Communications Minister Ernesto Villegas said.
"Our foreign ministry will issue official communiqué rejecting imperial threats," he tweeted.
Trump's threat of military intervention in Venezuela was "an act of craziness," the South American country's Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino told state television.
Padrino also announced in a tweet that the ringleader of an Aug. 6 attack on a Venezuelan military base near the city of Valencia was captured on Friday.
