Warning issued against harmful erasers

Erasers sold to the public are suspected of having excessive amounts of chemicals called phthalates, known to disrupt hormonal activities in humans, according to the Economics and Industry Ministry and confirmed by the Health Ministry.
Sold by the Top Toys company, the erasers do not meet safety standards and should not be used.
Phathalates are similar in structure to human hormones and thus interfere with them, the Health Ministry said. The irregularities refer to the model marked as AOM-1250-A;B;C;D;E. The importer has been instructed to collect all of the potentially harmful erasers but some could have slipped through to the market.
