Welfare Ministry to increase financial help for phone bill given to blind and handicapped

The Ministry of Welfare announced this week that it will expand its financial contribution to the Bezeq landlines of blind and handicapped people in Israel.
The initiative is intended to help the blind and disabled populations who “have difficulty with mobility” and “conduct their lives by phone”, a vital tool which they use to get the services of HMOs,hospitals and banks, among others.
Welfare Minister Meir Cohen said in a statement that the Ministry “attaches the utmost importance to giving assistance to the blind and the handicapped.”
“Increasing the aid paid to Bezeq is one example of a large range of services that the ministry offers to these populations in order to improve their quality of life,” Cohen added.
