West Bank councils close offices to protest against settlement freeze

West Bank councils close

Local and regional councils in the West Bank closed their offices for a one-day strike of all but essential services on Sunday, to protest the 10-month moratorium on new Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria. Schools, however, were open as usual. In the morning, council workers were set to demonstrate in front of the Prime Minister's Office during the weekly cabinet meeting. They then will march through the streets of Jerusalem to the protest tent near Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's home.
