Withdrawal of soldiers from border communities delayed for one month

Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon has decided to postpone the withdrawal of soldiers from northern and southern frontline communities for one month, Israel Radio reported on Thursday night.
The decision to delay the pull out was made to allow the towns and villages near Israel's borders more time to make the necessary security arrangements to replace the departing soldiers.
The initial decision to move the soldiers, stationed in 13 northern frontier community and nine towns and villages near the Gaza and Egypt borders, was made earlier this week, after senior IDF commanders concluded that the army's presence in the area was no longer necessary for security.
