Witness: I gave Sheetrit NIS 130,000 bribe for Holyland

The state witness in the ongoing corruption trial of Ehud Olmert said Tuesday that in 2003 he gave Uri Sheetrit, who was the former architect for the Jerusalem municipality appointed by then-mayor Olmert, NIS 130,000 in order to get Sheetrit's approval for continuing the Holyland project.
Sheetrit gave him the impression that without the bribe he would not continue to improve the project.
The first two days of the trial covered corruption allegations from 1993-1999. Tuesday's proceedings have moved to allegations post-1999.
