WJC's Lauder ‘shocked and dismayed’ by Abbas meeting with terrorists’ families

World Jewish Congress (WJC) President Ronald S. Lauder expressed shock and dismay Thursday following reports that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas met with families of Palestinians who carried out attacks against Israelis.

“If reports that Mr. Abbas met with the families of Palestinian terrorists are true, it would be nothing short of a calculated slap in the face of the Israeli victims of these atrocities,” Lauder said.

“President Abbas continues to claim, on the surface, that he believes in a two-state solution while simultaneously celebrating those who murder Israelis in cold blood as ‘martyrs.’ If he is serious in stopping the cycle of violence, he should speak out against these crimes and not condone them,” Lauder added.
