Court sketches show 34-year-old Salkicevic wearing a blue head scarf in court. Her attorney Andrea Gambino refused to answer questions about her client's mental state.
She said the Salkicevic, a resident of Schiller Park, Illinois was arrested on Friday (February 6).
Asked how many children Salkicevic has, Gambino said, "She does have children and no I am not going to discuss that at this time. We have a bond hearing on Monday."
Five of the six Bosnian natives arrestered charged with conspiring to provide material support and resources to terrorists. The sixth person is overseas, the department said in a statement.
Members of the group conspired to provide money and equipment - including U.S. military uniforms, combat boots, tactical gear, military surplus goods and firearms accessories - to be used to commit crimes outside the United States, according to a federal grand jury indictment made public by the Justice Department.
