Woman admits to attacking husband with hammer 'to get even'

A resident of Rishon Lezion was attacked by his wife wielding a hammer while he slept early Sunday morning.

The woman later told police investigators that she attacked her husband while he slept as a way to get even with him for the years of physical and verbal abuse to which he subjected her.

The man, in his late 30s, was lightly injured and was brought by Magen David Adom to Assaf Ha'Roeh Hospital, while his wife was detained and investigated by police.

The woman admitted attacking her husband to police. She also claimed that 12 years ago she filed a complaint with the police and asked for a restraining order against her husband after an early episode of abuse. According to her lawyer, the suspect is currently under immense psychological distress and is under constant supervision to prevent her from harming herself.
