Woman stabbed in Ramla, in moderate condition

A young woman was stabbed with a screwdriver on Sunday in Ramla, a city in central Israel, located about 15 minutes east of Tel Aviv. The suspect fled the scene but was soon tracked down by Israel Police.
When asked by police to stop, the man lunged towards the security force with the screwdriver and was shot in the leg. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
An investigation was opened into the incident.
The 26-year-old woman was evacuated in moderate condition to a local hospital.
