Woman who drowned son to be charged with manslaughter, not murder

The State Prosecution informed the Tel Aviv District Court Tuesday of its intention to amend Olga Borisov's charge sheet, accusing the woman of manslaughter, rather than murder, after Borisov's defense and the prosecution reached a plea bargain. The Rishon Lezion woman allegedly drowned her four-year-old son off a Bat Yam beach last August. Borisov was initially charged with murder. During the trial, however, the court found that Borisov was plagued by bouts of depression and was in an unstable mental condition when she killed her son.
