Wonder Woman looks set to rule US box office

After bucking the trend of the badly reviewed Warner Bros/DC Comics franchise, 'Wonder Woman' looks set to shine at the top of the box office in the United States this weekend.
Website boxofficemojo.com predicts that the film, which charts the genesis of the iconic super-heroine, will take $89 million for the period ending Sunday.
Expected to come in second is 'Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie'. Based on the popular children's book series by author Dav Pilkey, the film about two pupils who hypnotize their headmaster into believing he's a superhero looks set to take $28.8 million.
Two Walt Disney films are expected to take the third and fourth places: 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales' at three and 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' at four.
Fifth place goes to the adaptation of the hit television series 'Baywatch'. Although it features the muscle power of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Zac Efron, it's failed to make a strong impression with cinema goers.
