Senior members of the Egyptian military met regularly with opposition figures in the months preceding the July 3 ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.The Journal quoted Ahmed Samih, an associate of several of the opposition members attending the meetings as saying the anti-Morsi camp received assurances from the military that they would step in and remove the president if large enough protests against him could be mustered.
