Ya'alon: Israel faces threats from Iran-backed terror groups

Israel faces threats from Islamic militants who are backed by Iran, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon said on Wednesday during a visit to the United States.
"Iran makes nonstop attempts at harming Israel and its citizens by means of terror along our borders from north to south and even across oceans. Iran also challenges US interests in the region, both directly and by undermining pro-Western Sunni regimes in the region. In recent weeks, Israel experienced a wave of Palestinian terror attacks, mostly stemming from harsh incitement against Israel yet partially resulting from efforts by Iran and its proxies to ignite the area," Ya'alon said during a joint news briefing with US Defense Secretary Ash Carter at the Pentagon.
Carter said the recent US-brokered nuclear deal with Iran had eliminated some but not all of the risk presented by Iran.
