Yacimovich calls on PM to compensate South business owners

Labor leader Shelly Yacimovich called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Friday to work to ensure financial compensation to business owners and employees in the South.
Speaking during a tour of southern cities under rocket fire, Yacimovich said that "It is unheard of that in addition to the security risks and the complete disruption of their day-to-day life, citizens living under fire will feel financial insecurity and anxiety as well."
According to Yacimovich, the Finance Ministry has so far said only citizens living within 7km of the Gaza Strip will be compensated. Citizens in other cities under fire like Ashkelon, Ashdod, Beersheba and Ofakim will not be compensated, despite not being able to go to work under the threat of rockets.
Yacimovich called on Netanyahu to adopt her proposed legislation that ensures full compensation both to employers and employees.
