Yair Lapid says Yesh Atid is the only option for the center

The Israeli center has no place to go but Yesh Atid, party leader Yair Lapid said Friday morning in an interview with Army Radio.
Lapid's comments came the morning after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister announced that Likud and Yisrael Beytenu will run together for the 19th Knesset.
"Netanyahu has gone with the extreme right, and Labor leader Shelly Yacimovich broke to the far left," said Lapid. "We're in a position where Yitzhak Rabin wouldn't be accept to Labor, and Menachem Begin wouldn't be accepted to Likud," he scoffed.
He dismissed the idea of the creation of a mega center-left party, and asserted that he would be willing to join any government that would change the current political system.
