Zionist Union: Netanyahu a coward in the face of terror

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is destroying Israel’s deterrence against terrorism, the Zionist Union said late on Wednesday night.
“‘Mr. Terrorism’ turned into ‘Dr. Cowardice,’” a party spokesman said. “He is negotiating with a terrorist who is on hunger strike, just because he didn’t make a decision as a leader as to what to do.”
According to Zionist Union, “No prime minister negotiated with Hamas terrorists more than Netanyahu.”
The prime minister caused irreversible damage to Israel’s deterrence in his dealings with terrorists in prison, the party said.
A senior Likud source responded that “instead of standing with the government in the war on terror and taking part in Israel’s international public diplomacy efforts, the opposition is not letting facts get in its way and is continuing to deal in petty politics.”
Referring to Zionist Union Isaac Herzog’s recent meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, the Likud source criticized the opposition’s “continued groveling to someone who incites to terrorism and emphatically refuses to condemn it.”
