NEW YORK – Israel’s latest innovations in Africa will be presented in an exhibit organized by the Israeli mission to the United Nations at UN headquarters in New York during the General Assembly, which will kick off on September 13.
Ten Israeli companies and startups are scheduled to introduce their latest innovations and technologies at the interactive event.
Among the project presentations will be a mobile soil-less “mini farm,” an atmospheric water generator, solar-energy mechanisms for power and water pumping and a cancer-detecting medical device that saves lives quickly and economically.
Heads of state and ambassadors from Africa and around the world are expected to view the exhibit.
The event, entitled Innovation and Technologies in Africa, was initiated in light of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Africa earlier this summer.
“We are continuing to promote the expansion of diplomatic and economic relations between Israel and Africa and to assist Israeli companies as they enter the African market,” Ambassador Danny Danon said in a statement.
“The UN is all too often a hostile forum where anti-Israel libels are spread,” he said.
“This event will provide our friends from Africa with a taste of the real face of Israel – a country full of technological innovations and the will to truly make the world a better place.”
