THE BABYLONIAN Heritage Center will host the fourth international congress on studies of the Jews of Babylon. It will open at Tel Aviv's Mann Auditorium and will continue on Monday and Tuesday at the Babylonian Heritage Center in Or Yehuda.
THE PURSUIT of Peace through the Rule of Law at times of Violence is the central theme of the conference of the World Jurist Association, which opened on Thursday at the Jerusalem Bar Association, 1 Chopin Street, with sessions on the legal aspects of terrorism and the role of the UN in combating terrorism. The conference continues Sunday at the Knesset and subsequently at the Renaissance Hotel, with the closing session at the Jerusalem Bar Association.

THE CARTOONING for Peace project will hold a three-day summit meeting in Israel and the Palestinian Authority together with the Peres Center for Peace. Cartooning for Peace is made up of cartoonists from Algeria, Egypt, Turkey, Japan, the US, France and Israel. It will open four simultaneous exhibitions in Ramallah, Bethlehem, east Jerusalem and Holon.

WHEN THE Soviet Union and most of the East European bloc countries severed diplomatic ties with Israel after the Six Day War, Romania was the only country that did not follow the example of members of the Warsaw Pact; it refrained from suspending diplomatic relations with Israel. In celebration of 60 years of uninterrupted diplomatic relations between Romania and the State of Israel, the Romanian Embassy will host a symposium at Jerusalem's Inbal Hotel on "Romania-Israel 60 Tears of Partnership."
