In a test for the Industry and Trade Ministry yesterday, the Tzach Orni weigh-bridge firm officially calibrated the maximum weight for cargo trucks, according to the most stringent European standards, by using special vehicles designed for the purpose. Checks will now be performed at the 4,000 weigh-bridges throughout the country, to prevent the damaging of road infrastructure and reduce the likelihood of traffic accidents caused by excessive cargo.
