DIY exports to grow 15% in 2006

Exports of do-it-yourself products are expected to grow 15 percent to total $1.29 billion by the end of 2006, following 12% growth last year, the Israel Export Institute said Tuesday.

About 60% of Israeli DIY exports are sold to European destination markets - primarily the UK, France and Germany, 37% are destined for the US, and 3% go to Australia and the rest of the world. The domestic market is served by about 60 DIY chain stores and 1,500 hardware stores.
