Weinstein rejects Maor for Leumi board

After having just completed 15 years as the bank’s president and CEO, Maor will need 'cooling down' period.

Galia Maor cannot be a candidate for the board of directors of Bank Leumi after having just completed 15 years as the bank’s president and CEO, Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein decided Wednesday. According to the law, he wrote, Maor must wait two years before she could be eligible for a position on the board.
On Tuesday, the Movement for Quality Government petitioned the High Court of Justice to strike her name from the list of candidates. A general meeting of Bank Leumi shareholders will choose the new members of the board next month.
