The Air Force struck a terror facility and weapons storage site in southern Gaza early Sunday in response to a rocket fired on the Sdot Negev Regional Council Saturday night.
The IDF Spokesperson's Office confirmed a precise hit on the target.
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine said the air strike hit a training base belonging to the group in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip but nobody was hurt.
No militant group had initially taken responsibility for launching the rocket.
Investigations were being conducted to locate the projectile that exploded in an open area.
No injures or damage were reported.
Kids celebrating Lag Ba'omer with bonfires in the area were instructed to return home after the Code Red rocket warning siren was sounded.
Islamist militants in Hamas-ruled Gaza have fired intermittently at Israel in the past weeks despite a ceasefire reached after an eight-day conflict in November.
Last Sunday, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu vowed to respond to the terrorists behind the twin rocket attacks on Eilat eminating from Gaza the week before.
