Livni: Europeans starting to talk about 1-state solution

Opposition leader tells Army Radio many Jews around the world "love Israel" but "do not accept Netanyahu's policies."

The fact that Europeans are starting to talk about a one-state solution shows that Israel's standing in the world is sliding, opposition leader Tzipi Livni told Army Radio on Monday.
"There are many Jews around the world who say they love Israel, but do not understand its policies. They say there is a disconnect between them and the state," Livni said.

She added that "Many supporters of Israel do not accept Netanyahu's policies."
Asked whether she would be able to "close a deal" with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Livni did not answer the question directly, but said she had met with Abbas several times in the past and suggested the two leaders would reach an agreement.
Commenting about the the rally planned for Monday near the Supreme Court to protest the recent detainment of two senior rabbis, Livni said "there is a group [in Israel] that wants to turn the country in an halachic state."
"The situation on the Israeli streets [in this regard] is very distorted," she said.
