A 22-year-old Palestinian died Thursday from an injury to the head caused by a rubber bullet shot by IDF soldiers two weeks earlier, according to Spokeswoman for the Popular Struggle Coordination Committee Abir Kopty.
Muhammad Asfour, who died in Tel Aviv's Ichilov hospital, was shot while protesting in his village of Aboud, in support of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. Asfour's funeral was due to be held on Friday.
According to Palestinian sources, Asfour was a fourth year student as a sports school in Abu Dis University and a football player in the village team.
Palestinians reported that protests had begun in Ramallah following the news of Asfour's death.
