Cities around the world celebrate with fireworks and parties; NY's Times Square party features Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber.

As New Year's rolled in, cities around the world celebrated with fireworks and parties.

People in the eastern hemisphere were the first to bring in the 2012 year.
Visitors took photographs of a light show at "Temple of Heaven" during the New Year Countdown Ceremony in Beijing, while fireworks exploded over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House during a pyrotechnic show.Europe and Israel followed with fireworks. Time Square in New York welcomed 2012 with performances from Justin Bieber, Santana and Lady Gaga.
