Four drinks for the Four Species

Try these holiday-inspired cocktails using arava, etrog ,lulav and hadas.

The Four Species inspired Shachaf Koren, of Ackerman Alcohol Imports, importers of Grey Goose Vodka, to come up with cocktails that follow the traditional characteristics: arava – no taste and no smell; etrog – good taste and good smell; lulav – taste but no smell; and hadas – good smell but no taste.
ARAVA
✔ 50 ml. Grey Goose vodka ✔ 20 ml. extra-dry martini ✔ Dash of orange bitters ✔ Lemon zest or an olive for garnish
Mix in a shaker over ice and strain into a cocktail glass.
ETROG
This cocktail has complex aromas and flavors of almonds, citrus and spices.
✔ 45 ml. orange Grey Goose vodka ✔ 15 ml. Amaretto liqueur ✔ 3-5 drops sesame oil ✔ 15 ml. sugar water ✔ 25 ml. lime juice ✔ Pinch ground ginger ✔ 1 anise star
Mix in a shaker over ice and strain into a cocktail glass.
LULAV
✔ 45 ml. Cognac ✔ 10 ml. silan ✔ 5 ml. fresh lime or lemon juice

HADAS
This vodka cocktail has hardly any flavor but a strong citrus aroma.
✔ 50 ml lemon Grey Goose vodka ✔ 3 slices cucumber ✔ 1 tsp. sugar ✔ Handful mint leaves ✔ 25 ml. lemon juice
Mix in a shaker over ice and strain into a cocktail glass.
