Health Basket Committee approves 83 more medicines and treatments

The Health Basket Committee on Friday approved 83 additional medicines and treatments to be state funded as of January 1, 2009.
The medicines include insulin for 5,000 diabetes sufferers, inhalers and medicines for 17,000 asthma sufferers, anti-biotics for conjunctivitis for some 200,000 people, AIDS medication and blood-clotting treatments.
Food supplements for sick children and anti-depressants were also selected.
