Man who received lung donations from siblings dies
By JPOST.COM STAFF
A 37-year-old Jerusalem resident died Saturday at Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva ten days after his bother and sister each donated part of one of their lungs to save his life.
The transplant was the first to be conducted in Israel from live donors. Only some 300 similar transplants have been done worldwide.
The man's brother and sister were released from the hospital last week in good condition.
