The best high-tech company to work for? Intel, once again

Other favored companies include Google Israel, which advanced most in the ranking jumping to second place from eleventh in the 2007 survey.

For the second straight year, Intel Israel has been rated the best high-tech company in the country to work for, followed by Google Israel, IBM, Microsoft and SAP, Business Data Israel Coface Ltd., said Wednesday in its annual report. The BDICoface survey was conducted among over 12,000 workers in high-tech companies around the country. Economists at BDICoface pointed out that high-tech workers who serve in army reserve duty are receiving special treatment from many employers. Many of the surveyed high-tech workers said that the company they work for sent packages for them and their families while they were on reserve duty, and workers on reserve duty are being compensated with vacations and other perks. Furthermore, it was found that the companies rated by the high-tech workers spent an average of between 1% to 2% of their annual budget on worker perks and social activities, which often involve family participation. Such activities may include movies, theatre, trips, sport activities and more. Rating the best company to work for, high-tech workers rated Intel, which employs 7,350 workers, as number one. Intel is not only the best high-tech employer to work for, it is the best company in Israel, according to BDI's general survey last May. Other favored companies include Google Israel, which advanced most in the ranking jumping to second place from eleventh in the 2007 survey. In third place in the high-tech survey, after Google Israel, was IBM Israel, which generated an estimated NIS 2.2 billion in revenue in 2007 and employs 1,700 people. Microsoft Israel dropped from second-best company to work for to fourth place this year, with an estimated NIS 891 million in revenue in 2007 and 700 employees. SAP Israel was ranked in fifth place among high-tech companies in 2008, the same ranking as in 2007. The company had NIS 562.4m. in revenue in 2007 and employs 700 workers. Cisco Systems Israel was in sixth place, unchanged from last year. The software provider company had an estimated NIS 400m. in revenue in 2007 and 930 employees.
