Twenty-five staff members from the Palestinian Authority education system arrived in Tel Aviv on Sunday for a special session on environmental education sponsored by the Council for a Beautiful Israel. The visit is an attempt to help educational staff from the PA learn about new ways of integrating environmental education into their schools, and an effort to build on a similar visit by educational personnel from the PA that took place last year. The program is also rooted in a similar project the council began with the Beit Netofa Municipal Association for the Environment, in the Galilee's Sakhnin Valley, in an effort to raise environmental awareness within the country's Arab sector. "We welcome this productive cooperation that really began a year ago, and we're happy to do our part to raise environmental awareness among young people in the Palestinian Authority," Council for a Beautiful Israel head Eshel Segel said. "We hope that this cooperation - which is partly educational, but also deals with environmental science, will only blossom in the future, and we can all enjoy a better environment, to the benefit of all."
