Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz on Sunday morning accused Health Ministry Director-General Prof. Ronni Gamzu of incitement against the Treasury and the prime minister.
In an interview with Army Radio, Steinitz was referring to Gamzu's claims that the Finance Ministry was run like a mafia and that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu had threatened to bring doctors in from India if the residents' strike was not resolved.

"How does it happen that the director-general of a government office speaks to a group of justices and says that the conclusion of the conversation is that the residents will continue to strike?" the minister asked, refusing to say whether he sought Gamzu's resignation.
Hospital residents were expected to inform the High Court of Justice Sunday morning of their decision to renew negotiations with the Finance Ministry.
The doctors came to this decision after hours of heated discussion on Saturday. However, they said that they would not return to work immediately. They will first submit a draft of negotiations, and only if the state consents and the High Court approves it, will they return to the hospitals.
